I want to buy a Tumbleweed tiny home and put it on a roof in downtown Dallas (red circle in picture <a href="http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/1267/downtowndallas.png">here</a>). Is anyone aware of tiny homes having been put on top of a building roof?

I am certainly interested in the tiny house movement and green is even better. My mother and I are looking for a tiny, low maintenance place and artists would be wonderful. I am a debtor educator and life coach. I work on the phone and internet. Right now I am working in the boondocks of West Texas and we are looking to get out of the oil field. We have a dog and a cat and that would be a major consideration. This is a good time for us to sell and leave all the clutter behind!!!

Hello everyone! I was wondering how everyone went about finding the land where you build your tiny homes? Is there a special website or method of searching? I've searched for a while and googled a lot of different things but I'm not sure I'm using the right words.

I didn't have a chance to attend the Tumbleweed workshop in February, so I have no idea if they even touched this subject, but does anyone know what the official zoning laws are for micro-homes out here? (I'm not even sure anything on a trailer even counts as that though, either.) The closest I've been able to find is something about sheds (anything less than 120 sq ft is considered an "accessory building" that doesn't need a permit to build), but I am not sure if that applies to something that will be residential. Or are the smaller mobile Tumbleweeds considered recreational vehicles like an RV? Knowing may change my mind about which model I build. Right now I'm sort of torn between the Epu and the Weebee. I bought plans for the Xs, but I am starting to think that one might be a wee bit TOO small...
