    Hi Everybody! My husband and I are building our new home in a 24' GMC T6500. I consider it to be a tiny house more than an RV, not just because it will be our permanent home, but because of the house-like features we're including in our designs. It will have a loft with our tempurpedic bed and massage bed, sitting area, digital piano, washer & dryer, shower, composting toilet, kitchen, etc. We will also have a water purification system so we can reuse our greywater and solar panels for all of our energy needs.

    Nice plans with a lot of home comfort things. I'm sure they will make your home cozy, but it will add to the expense. I'm just wondering how it will all fit, looking at the full-size fridge, sink and wardrobes, etc. Also, how much room will you have in the sleeping area for head height? I imagine the wheels already add to height and if you don't want to go above 13.5' to get under bridges I'm wondering how much space you will have?

    I'm looking forward to following your progress with you.

    KimK, hopefully this will answer your questions:

    The ceilings are 9' and the loft will be 5' so there will be around 3' above the mattress.

    The depth of the wardrobe is 22.875" and 27.75" for the Sunfrost refrigerator. After the insulation and everything, the space is over 7' wide and will leave about 3' for the walkway. It's not exactly roomy, but it's enough.

    One heater is enough for 120 sq feet and we'll have two of them.

    The walls are done! :-) Hopefully we'll start/finish the flooring tomorrow.

    That's just way cool! You are surrounded by the earth. Now all you need are some stars on the ceiling. :) Where did you ever find the wall size maps to fit your walls!
